The role of the committee is to advise the Dean, and as appropriate the Faculty, on:

• The preparation, updating and implementation of strategic and academic plans for the Faculty, where implementation includes recommending on staffing matters in accordance with agreed plans;
• Matters relating to the Faculty budget including the structure and operation of the Faculty budget model; and
• Other Faculty budget issues and policies as required from time to time.

Strategic planning documents are presented to Faculty Board and/or Faculty for consideration and adoption, and the budget is presented to Faculty Board for comment before submission to the University Planning and Budget Committee.
