If something exceptional and beyond your control has interfered with your ability to study in the normal way you should consider completing an application for special consideration.
The forms can be obtained at the Business School Student Centre or Postgraduate Reception Desk, or from the Student Administration website.
In exceptional circumstances you can also apply for a deferred mid-semester exam or a deferred end of semester/trimester exam within three (3) university working days from the date of the exam. Application forms can be obtained at the Business School Student Centre or Postgraduate Reception Desk.
A student may be granted a deferred examination in one or more of their units if the Sub-Dean of the UWA Business School is satisfied that on the basis of medical or other exceptional reasons the candidate was either:
Other exceptional reasons can include bereavement, competition in a recognised sporting events (representing state or country), professional commitments including travel (only where failure to meet these commitments impacts on career progression) or other exceptional circumstances. They will generally not include day to day employment commitments, family events and responsibilities, or personal transport difficulties.
Third party generated supporting documentation will normally be required in support of all applications.
The dates for deferred exams are pre-determined and published well in advance. It is the responsibility of students to ensure that they keep their diary clear during these exam periods. The timetable is as follows:
