Teaching in computer labs

Lab facilities are provided for student research, teaching and general access.

If you have an account, log into to lab computers using your existing username and password. Ensure you select the BIZ domain option at the login prompt instead of BIZSTUDENT.

Contact your administrative support staff to get a lab internet and printing quota.

Using a laptop

If you have your own laptop, you can access the internet with the SNAP service. Activate SNAP access before your class to ensure access on the day.

When registering, use username@biz where username is your normal username. Use your usual password. Follow the SNAP instructions carefully.

When connecting your laptop, use one of the yellow tagged SNAP network cables provided in the lab.  If you can't find the cable, contact the helpdesk.

Plug into the network

As an alternative to SNAP, you may plug into the Business School network using one of the lab computer's network cables or by arranging in advance with the helpdesk for a cable to be made available.

Set your proxy server to proxy.biz.uwa.edu.au port 8888.

Student access

You should encourage students to activate their accounts before class.  This can be done online as soon as they enrol, using the account activation service

Contact the helpdesk for further information.
