John Willinge is the founder and CEO of Alverstoke Group LLC, an investment firm based in New York, and serves as a member of the Board of a number of public and private companies both in the United States and Australia.

He has previously worked at leading financial services firms including Rothschild, Goldman Sachs and Thomas Weisel Partners, where he was a partner of the firm.

John received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School with Honours, a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Western Australia, and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Western Australian School of Mines.

He was the recipient of a number of academic prizes as well as a scholarship for academic and athletic achievement. John is the author of a bestselling Harvard Business School paper on venture capital and private equity. John was selected as a David Rockefeller Fellow with the Partnership for New York City in 2011.

John is a Patron of The Hackett Foundation, a Member of the UWA Business School Board, the Chair of the United States Chapter of the Business School's Ambassadorial Council, and the Chair of UWA in America, a not-for-profit organisation established to promote alumni activities for UWA graduates in the United States.
