Course structure

As a Master of Commerce student, you will complete between 12 and 16 units, depending on your prior studies.

Students who receive credit for prior study (normally through a Bachelor of Commerce) will complete 2 core units, 2 additional units (if advised to complete these by Faculty), 4 units within each specialisation chosen, and additional option units to bring the total number of units to 12.

Students who do not receive credit for prior study will complete 4 conversion units, 2 compulsory units, 2 additional units (if advised to complete these by Faculty), 4 units within each specialisation chosen, and additional option units to bring the total number of units to 16.

Admission requirements

All students must meet UWA’s English language competency requirements.
To be eligible for admission, you must meet the following requirements:

Pathway One
  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent as recognised by UWA; and
  • Any one of the following:
    • The equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 60 per cent; or
    • A valid Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score of at least 550; or
    • At least five years of relevant documented professional experience considered by UWA to be sufficient to permit satisfactory completion of the course.
Pathway Three
  • A Graduate Certificate in Business, or an equivalent accredited post-experience qualification, as recognised by UWA; with the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent.
