The Consortium for Diversity at Work

In 2006, the UWA Business School established the Consortium for Diversity at Work  based on the philosophy that life and work is no longer predictable in our rapidly-changing, competitive economy.

The consortium conducts original, timely and relevant research on all aspects of diversity at work, with a focus on four core themes:

• labour market and workforce diversity
• work/life quality and diversity
• leadership and diversity
• governance and diversity.

Centre for Labour Market Research

The Centre for Labour Market Research is a consortium of The University of Western Australia, Curtin University of Technology, Murdoch University and the University of Canberra.

It has branches in Perth and Canberra with its administrative office located at Curtin Business School in Perth.

The centre's objectives are to:

• further the knowledge and understanding of labour markets and related issues, with special reference to Australian labour markets and other markets in the Asia-Pacific Region
• promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise on labour economics and industrial relations between the academic community, governments, business and trade unions.

Centre for Organisational Research

Director: Associate Professor David Morrison and Professor John Cordery

The centre is a research collaboration between scholars in the disciplines of management and psychology. Its members are drawn from the UWA Business School and the School of Psychology.

Our mission, through research in partnership with industry, is to create and disseminate knowledge that increases the effectiveness and well-being of people within organisations.

Centre for Transport and Logistics Research

Director: Professor John Taplin

Research ranges across discrete choice modelling of travel choices at all levels, distribution modelling and supply chain optimisation, optimum transport investment over time, intelligent transport systems, and activity spaces and transport.

Trade Migration and Development Research Centre

Director: Dr Abu Siddique

The centre covers research areas such as such as:

• trade
• tourism
• globalisation
• migration
• gender
• development.

The centre's special focus is on Australia and other countries of the Indian Ocean region. Its research activities emphasise theoretical aspects and the application of results for policy purposes.

WA Centre for Capital Markets Research

Director: Professor Ray Da Silva Rosa

The centre provides a nexus for academics in disparate disciplines with an interest in capital markets research to pool resources collaborate, and connect with the wider business community in WA and beyond.

This focus encompasses many research questions addressing:

• resource stocks
• venture capital companies
• the governance of smaller companies listed on the stock exchange.
