10 Things I Love about My MBA

Innovation Manager and UWA MBA Flexible student Lou Forster shares 10 things she loves about her MBA.

We offer all the outstanding teaching and experiential activities you would expect from a world-class business school, but with the flexibility to complete the MBA at your own pace.

Benefits of Our MBA Flexible Program

Study at your own pace
As an MBA Flexible student, you may choose to study up to four units each trimester, or even take a break from study altogether for a trimester - the decision is yours. The MBA Flexible can be completed in one year full-time or up to five years part-time. The typical student completes their degree between two and three years.

Units are delivered in a variety of modes including weekly face-to-face evening classes, block / intensive mode and online.
Learn alongside high calibre peers
Our MBA Flexible students have, on average, 11 years of work experience. They represent a wide variety of sectors, including resources, finance, not-for-profit and health. As a result, you’ll not only learn from our world-class professors, but from your fellow classmates.

Equally, we value the unique experiences and skills that you bring to the classroom. The collaborative nature of the MBA ensures you will hone your leadership and teamwork abilities.
Tailor your own program
You can tailor your own personal MBA by choosing option units from a wide range of areas. MBA Flexible students can choose to specialise in: leadership, natural resources, social impact, entrepreneurship and innovation, finance or general management.

In addition, you can complete an international study tour, or – in approved cases – gain credit for units completed at overseas universities.

Study online
We know you have a variety of commitments outside of study. That’s why we provide you with flexible study options, including the option of completing up to six units online.

Our online units have been specially designed to maximise student engagement and ensure students achieve the same learning outcomes as through face-to-face classes. And if you do choose to study online, you will still have access to a range of social and networking opportunities, including networking and social events held at the UWA Business School.

Other benefits of studying online include:

  • Gaining skills in virtual teamwork
  • 24/7 access to interactive online learning
  • Demonstrating your ability to work independently
  • Added flexibility in designing your study timetable

Career development and industry connections
To help you further your career, you will have access to a variety of networking, recruitment and development events. What’s more, you’ll also enjoy direct contact with business leaders from leading local and international companies. Activities include:
  • Boardroom lunches hosted by the UWA Business School’s corporate partners for high achieving students
  • Strategy sessions addressing real business issues, conducted by industry executives
  • Case studies developed in conjunction with industry
  • Guest lectures delivered by senior managers and executives
  • Professional development sessions led by senior management consultants
  • Career recruitment breakfasts
  • Networking and social activities
  • Job fairs with top WA employers
Become an innovative leader
