The Business School has recognised excellence in teaching among its staff during 2008.
Teaching excellence recognised
The Faculty Teaching Awards also acknowledged the considerable time and effort put in by the winners and nominees.
In all, there were 196 nominations with 24 staff accepting the nominations. The winners were acknowledged on Tuesday, 24 March 2009 in a ceremony held at the University Club.
The recipients of the awards and commendations were:
- Undergraduate Coursework (more than 100): Joint winners Ann Tarca and Andrew Williams
- Undergraduate Coursework (fewer than 100): Rony Gabbay
- Postgraduate Coursework: Sandra Kiffin-Petersen
- Tutor: Prerana Agrawal; Commendation: Lucia Fung
- Early Career: Joint winners Inga Kristoffersen and Kenneth Yap
- Adjunct Lecturer: Donald Ee
- Research Supervision: David Plowman
- Programs that Enhance Learning: Executive MBA
- Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: Md Abu Bakar Siddique and Roger Smith
The Faculty nominated staff in three categories to the UWA central committee which will select the staff to be submitted to Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) as the UWA nominees for national awards for 2010.
The Faculty's nominations are:
- ALTC Teaching Excellence - Law, Economics, Business and Related Studies: Sandra Kiffin-Petersen and Andrew Williams
- ALTC Teaching Excellence - Early Career: Inga Kristoffersen and Kenneth Yap
- ALTC Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: Md Abu Bakar Siddique and Roger Smith
