Overview

The MBA is targeted particularly to the needs of ‘early career’ graduate business students. The intent of the MBA will be to expose students to the full range of management functional areas to provide them with relevant skills and a conceptual framework which they may later reinforce with further on-the-job management experience.

Course Structure

Stage 1

5 compulsory core management units that are designed to bring all students to a common level of knowledge in the fundamental areas of management, irrespective of their background or experience.
MGMT8502 Accounting
MGMT8503 Economic Management and Strategy
MGMT8530 Managerial Finance
MGMT8550 Marketing Principles
MGMT8501 Organisational Behaviour

While MGMT8504 Data Analysis and Decision Making is not a core unit, neither can it be considered an elective unit, as students who cannot demonstrate a proficiency in statistics and analysis will be required to take the unit.

Stage 2

7 units, including two capstone units:
MGMT8700 Strategic Management
MGMT8504 Data Analysis and Decision Making

Choose two of the following four units:and a choice of two of the following four units:
MGMT8512 Corporate Social Responsibility
MGMT8608 Entrepreneurship and Innovation
MGMT8623 Leadership Effectiveness
MGMT8505 International Management


and 3 elective units.

Stage 3 (optional)

An additional four units results in achieving the MBA (Advanced) or MBA (International).  These extra four units must be undertaken at the Perth Campus. Additional four units and results in achieving the MBA (Advanced) or MBA (International).
