Important dates

Students seeking admission to master's or PhD may apply at any time of the year as the programs are not run on a semester basis.

The Master of Economics degree allows you to develop your economic research skills to a professional standard.

You can do this in a range of areas.

The degree is suitable for students with an honours degree in economics or in a related discipline.

It provides excellent training for individuals who intend to pursue further studies at the doctoral level, or who aim for senior managerial roles in the private and public sectors.

Course structure

A research thesis of not more than 50,000 words, plus courses, lectures, seminars and other work and/or studies and investigations culminating in such reports as the supervisor or Head of School directs. A Master of Ecomonics can also be taken by coursework.

Admission requirements

Qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor of Economics with upper second class honours.
