Below is a summary of the Expected Course Outcomes from courses offered by the Business School.
Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics
On successful completion of the BCom or BEc course, graduates should be able to:
- Explain and apply concepts, principles and theoretical knowledge across various areas pertaining to commerce (economics) in the degree;
- Demonstrate specialised knowledge and skills acquired in their chosen discipline specific business major(s);
- Critically evaluate and solve problems relevant to business, government and commercial professions;
- Listen, speak and write effectively and appropriately to peers and the wider community, and especially in relation to business matters;
- Employ technologies effectively to access, analyse, evaluate and communicate information across a range of business contexts;
- Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in both an independent and team situation and where circumstances in the business world are frequently complex and dynamic;
- Recognise and appreciate the contribution people from diverse backgrounds and cultures can make to local, national and international business communities.
Master of Business Administration
On successful completion of the MBA course, graduates should be able to:
- Understand in a global business context, how organisations work;
- Demonstrate practical knowledge and skills across various functional and technical areas of management;
- Critically evaluate and solve problems relevant to business, government and the commercial professions;
- Listen, speak and write effectively and appropriately to peers and the wider community, and especially in relation to business matters;
- Employ technologies effectively to access, analyse, evaluate and communicate information across a range of business contexts;
- Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in both an independent and team situation and where circumstances in the business world are frequently complex and dynamic;
- Recognise and appreciate the contribution people from diverse backgrounds and cultures can make to local, national and international business communities.
