Signature Black Tie Dinner

GMA dinner

The Graduate Management Association’s black tie dinner is its signature event.

This prestigious dinner is an opportunity to reconnect and network with alumni and the business community whilst hearing from a notable keynote speaker. Previous eminent dinner speakers include Catherine Livingstone, Alan Cransberg, Peter Coleman, Carol Schwartz, Sam Walsh, Dr Bob Every, Roger Corbett, Sir Rod Eddington, Dr Ziggy Switkowski and Bob Browning. The evening is hosted by GMA Patron, Dr Michael Chaney AO.

A review of the dinner is available for download:

The 2016 keynote address was delivered by Catherine Livingstone, President of the Business Council of Australia.

You can find the transcript on the Business Council of Australia website.

Career Cafés

The GMA is partnering with UWA Alumni Relations to present Career Cafés this year.

Career Cafés are a unique opportunity to meet and talk with industry leaders, including a panel of coaches, professionals and trend watchers who share their tips on what you need to succeed. Each café consists of a panel discussion followed by informal mentoring conversations.

Mentors for the event are drawn from the UWA alumni network, which itself is made up of Perth’s career establishment – individuals who are well up the ladder and eager to help a fellow graduate along.

Industry Presentations and Panel Discussions

The GMA presents a range of industry presentations and panel discussions on topical business issues. These events feature prominent business leaders and bring our members together for thought provoking discussion. Examples of topics of past events include digital disruption, the Western Australian building industry, from innovation to commercialisation and building your professional brand.

The GMA also partners with other organisations to provide GMA members exposure to other industries and networking opportunities. For example, in partnership with the UWA Business School and its Young Alumni Network, the GMA hosted a presentation by Mr Adrian Fini on the redevelopment of the State Buildings.

Sundowners

These events have no formal agenda. Instead, they are a chance for members to catch-up over a relaxing drink.

They’re free and are held at Perth CBD locations such as the Western Australia Club.
